Applications for the textile and leather industry

The textile and leather industry is one of humanity's oldest branches of industry. Although it is now only of rather subordinate importance in Europe today, the areas of production of technical textiles, textile aids and the chemical treatment of fibrous materials and leather surfaces are nevertheless important areas of application for fatty acids, fatty acid esters and waxes. For example, they are indispensable additives in the impregnation of textiles, the smoothing of various threads and fibres, and are also frequently used as an antistatic additive and carrier or oil component for an extremely wide variety of care products.
