Applications for the lubricant industry

Lubricants are, in very general terms, products performing tasks which can be described as follows: reduction of friction, removal of frictional heat, protection against corrosion, improvement of mechanical seals and the prevention of debris from abrasion. Lubricants are divided up into greases, oils, and fluids, depending on viscosity, with such formulations (base oils) usually being based on conventionally obtained mineral oils or synthetically manufactured hydrocarbons.

Due to their availability and sustainability, renewable, native products are becoming more and more important, both as base oils and as additives for the mineral-oil-based products.

The HERWEMAG products can be used in a multitude of industrial lubricants, industrial greases, and metalworking fluids, as, among other things, emulsifiers, gelling and/or thickening agents, thixotroping agents, and hydrophobisation agents, but also as base components.
