HERWEMAG lubricants and additives for the plastics industry

Due to its diversity of variations and methods of manufacturing and processing, the plastics industry offers a major field of application for our products. HERWEMAG metal soaps are used both in the field of PVC and for other plastics, as stabilisers, lubricants, acid scavengers, and mould release agents.

HERWEMAG ester lubricants are also extensively used in the plastics sector. The esters' ambivalent character is caused firstly by the polar (hydrophilic) character of the ester binding and the polar OH groups of the alcohol, and secondly by the unpolar (lipophilic) fatty acid chains. The resultant surface-active and emulsifying properties of the esters are utilised to a particular degree in the field of plastics manufacture and processing.
